Counterfeit ICs continue to be a concern. A recent court case has begun involving allegedly intentionally mis-labeled ICs that may have been purchased by the US Navy. Katherine Whittington from 5141 – Parts Engineering and Carlos Abesamis from 5127 – Procurement Quality Assurance taught JPL’s Counterfeit Parts Awareness training (CPAT) class at NASA JSC at JSC’s invitation on 28 – 30 July 2009.
