Overview

The Project Parts Engineer (PPE) is the primary focal point for all EEE parts requirements for the Project. The PPE provides guidance to Projects on the selection, evaluation, and acquisition of Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical (EEE) parts to meet the Parts Program Requirements (PPR) or Safety and Mission Assurance Plan (SMAP). Parts are reviewed to maximize reliability while considering schedule and cost constraints to ensure compliance with engineering requirements, including JPL’s Government-Industry Data Exchange (GIDEP) and NASA Alert programs.

The Project Parts Engineer provides project support for the planning and implementation of EEE Parts programs for JPL projects, science instruments and experiments. The Project Support Group has extensive experience in supporting the development of parts programs, acquisition strategies, procurement tracking, coordinating special testing and analysis and parts failure investigation. It is the gateway to many of the electronic parts resources at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
